Ice Breaker

I've decided to start my blog again (after a failed attempt at having one 2 years ago) because some time in the future I may want to look back on my state of mind during the preparations for our wedding.

Some Notes About Me
I am the oldest of 4 children (3 girls and a boy). My mom and dad have pretty much practiced a policy of laissez faire while bringing us up, and I think they've done quite well.

I am a 30 year old architect who in the recent years has realized that I have a preference for Interior Design. I really do mostly Project Management, but can well say that I'm a pretty good design critic. We set up our own office last year and its been a challenging time for us. But we've gotten to do some great projects recently, started to build our company portfolio and things are getting better.

I love animals, reading, shopping, eating (notice I dont say I love exercise hahaha). I'm passionate (read: volatile) but I'm trying to be more even-tempered. It's very difficult to do :(

Joel
Joel is a really talented Architect, and a great 3D Artist too. He is currently an associate at Screampoint, and has been based in SF for the last 3 years.

He seems a bit standoffish, but really he's a very smart, sweet and funny guy. He's bossy too, but that's a good thing. I like that he stands up to me because most people dont. Forgive the sappiness but being with Joey makes me really happy.

A History Lesson
I've known Joel since the first year of college. We were blockmates at UP. I found him aloof at first and even a bit annoying. I actually went out of my way to tease him...and by tease I mean not the affectionate sort of teasing...but more the tormenting way of teasing. One day, as I was watching him lying on the pavement with his arms in a drainage grate (he dropped his car keys in and was trying to fish them out) I suddenly realized he was a cutie. How odd.

We ended up having merienda with the blockmates at Cravings that day and I was so disoriented that I actually said. "Hey, do you want to try my mango creep?" Tapos he kidded me and offered some of his cream poof. Argh! After that we started staying together more often (I was getting kilig in the way young 'uns do). We got together on the 17th of March 1992, after spending the day sketching the carillon for our Arch 3 Finals.

Joel and I are still disputing the chronology of events :P

Getting Married
Yup, It's finally happening after 12 years of being together (hiccups included). It's a bit funny how we have seen each other change and grow in the last 12 years. But all in all its been wonderful and I really cannot imagine wanting to be with anyone else.

We're getting married on the 19th of February 2005.
