The Fruits of Procrastination Part 1

The Fruits of Procrastination 1 - Getting bumped of Amis Printing's schedule

Argh. I just found out this week that the printer I was looking at to make our wedding invitations can no longer accommodate February 2005 weddings.

Sayang, I heard they were good and reasonably priced pa naman.

My mom recommended the printer she used for her debut, wedding, and almost every other social occassion her family had which required stationary (they even made my stampitas for my Catholic 1st communion). So she called and made an appointment with Ever Engraving.

We got to visit them today and I think I am in love with the engraved invitations. Jean, the lady we were speaking with, gave me some samples and I cant stop running my hands over the lettering.

During the early days of our wedding preps I had my heart set on a calligraphy-style invitation on thick paper. Formal layout and wording, but maybe with colored ink that matched the envelope lining, and an ornate font to keep things a bit interesting.

o di kaya

Joel didn't agree. Meh.

But after a discussion earlier today (read: mild argument with protests from me as he wanted to make the invites in SF on his printer.... with some sarcastic comments from him because he thought the formal style was too common) he finally told me to do what I thought was best (salamat Joey).

He did say that he didn't want a dual-font invitation and preferred one all in script so goody for that. :D

I'm getting thermographed invitation sets because the price of engraved invitations is crazy (20% higher than thermographed plus PHP 8,000.00 per plate!). But I cannot resist - I will order engraved thankyou cards....as we can use this even after we get married. We get to keep the plate too, yippee!

So I've got till Saturday the 21st to finalise layouts and colors and then finally...some progress with wedding preps.

The Fruits of Procrastination 2 - Scrambling for a Coordinator and getting hit by the price increase on their fees

I actually got to speak with a group who I would rather refer to as Coordinator X a couple of weeks ago. They're very nice people, but have only had a few weddings worth of experience. This wasn't too bad as I hired our videographer on the basis of 1 wedding completed...BUT, they seemed even more laid back than I was.

They didn't have lists when I met them, and I felt they did not think out the process of preparations, as they didn't have a cut-out methodology describing how to proceed, what gets done, what needs to be addressed, blah blah blah. It was more chitchat than a thorough discussion. So fuck that. I can smell unpreparedness and bullshit like a shark, as I've been unprepared and done a lot of bullshitting myself heh heh.

I'm speaking with 2 more coordinators this week, and both seem more organized. Both have raised their fees from the time I picked up their flyers, pero I will try to ask if they can give me the old rate.

I just need to see how we jive, as I am not the easiest person to get along with.

The Fruits of Procrastination 3 - Wrong Rings

I confess further (hahah) that I didn't follow up about our sample rings until 2 weeks ago. I had ordered platinum rings from Tak King in May and was supposed to pick up the silver samples 2 weeks after I met David and Geny (the owners).

Siempre I didn't.

Siempre when I finally got it the design was wrong.

Hahay. Hay. Hay.

So I brought them back today and will follow up next week, as Jo is starting to ask about when I will be sending his sample ring to SF.

Sya, gumagalaw na, kahit konti.
