Reunion

Quite a lot has happened recently and I feel like I have been running around like a headless chicken. I am loathe to do a full rundown, so maybe I'll do a series of posts instead. To keep things manageable.

J visited Manila for a week :)

Everything was hectic hectic hectic but then I didn't mind because I was too busy toecurling in joy.

If you read this blog a lot you probably know I should have left Manila for SF sometime in August. But we found out mom was sick so we decided that I would stay in Manila at least until we knew how things were going more clearly.

About a month ago J said that he would visit Manila for a few days instead. We got married last February and haven't even spent a month together (it was more like 12 days) so you can understand I was really really pleased.

When I saw him at the airport arrival area I felt my usual sneering/frowning mouth open into a very very wide smile. My heart actually pitty pattered.

Sometimes I would look at J and be amazed I was actually married to him. Lucky me, he is such a nice person. Smart too. And funny.

We stayed at his parents house so I got to eat a lot of yummy food. His mom is a great cook, and although I am intimidated at the idea that J is used to having good home-cooked meals, I distracted myself by tasting everything. I consider it "research" hahaha.

J also visited mom and I know she was very happy to see him. Mom really loves J a lot, and it makes me smile to hear her call him her "son" and hear him say "mom". J bought mom some books and homeopathic drops, and to her sheer delight a box of Richart dark chocolate thins. She had really made bilin for dark chocolates and the beloved husband really went all out with what he got her.

Ultra Fine Ballotin
Each thin is labeled with the country of origin of the cocoa bean, and the percentage content of chocolate in it. Cool no?

You shoulda seen her eyes light up when she got them.

And this is what he got me.

Petits Richart Roasted

Petits Richart Balsamic

Petits Richart
Tiny intense flavored nuggets of heaven that are almost too pretty to eat.
There are 7 types per flavor family
and the box comes with a guide that advises the order
in which to eat the chocolates.

Teuscher truff(l)es
I think these are my favorite truffles ever.
The champagne and dark champagne truffes are heavenly.
I would place one in my mouth and get a thrill as I closed my mouth
because the chocolate would melt
and then the champagne cream would ooze out
and coat my tongue.
A true tastebud orgasm.

J had been asking what I wanted from SF and I couldn't think of anything. So I said nothing.

But these were perfect.

I'm a lucky girl, I tell you.
