Meeting 3logy
Erika and I went to Starbucks Pearl Drive to meet Maybelle (W@Wie) and 3logy. Maybelle is really kalog (ay, am I showing my age by using that word) and we had a bit of a chat prior to meeting with 3logy, whom we were considering as videographers for our weddings.
3logy is composed of 3 guys - Bong, CJ, and Johnson (hence the 3, einstein :P ) and they're very new to the business. They've only shot 1 wedding so far, and this was a W@Wie wedding (Cat and Ariel) so they let us see the video. Storyline was good and not mushy, Music was good, Timing was good (the actions went with the music very well), Intros and transitions could use some work, Lighting could be improved.
What I liked:
They've pencil-booked us and I've got a month to give them feedback on whether we will work together or not.
All in all, I feel that we could work well together. I think I am going to take that leap of faith with them. :)
I need Joel's approval too of course.

What I liked:
- The video didn't look orchestrated, it seemed that they had filmed the events as they occured instead of directed the people
- They shot from interesting angles.
- The music melded very well with the video.
- I think we'll get along with music choices, they used Sting's music for Cat and Ariel's video.
- They actually use 3 cameras, 2 3ccd cameras, and a 1 ccd camera backup which has a mic attachment.
- Free AVP and a very good price for the package
- Rapport - I like them, they're good to talk to, and Bong and CJ make me laugh
- They don't have much lighting equipment, not like the more expensive videographers anyway (but we've got a morning wedding so I dont really think this will be much of a problem)
- Newbie nervousness - they've only done 1 full video so I worry about how they would deal with any problems. Of course, lack of experience doesnt necessarily translate to lack of skill / talent. They've obviously got the talent and they've got 6 months to get more experience :)
