Habol Oras
Tita Mila went to my office to discuss the gowns and she doesn't have a problem with making my gown. That's a relief as I was a bit worried she would say that the embroidery was too tedious to do. My gown will no longer be pink though, as there isn't any matching pink lace available. So ecru. Ecru. Mai in Ecru.
The MOH and BMs will be in pink strapless mid-calf dresses with shrugs. The flower girls will be in green dresses and I don't really care how their dresses look heheh.
Mom's dress is mocha-colored. Tita Mila will dye the lace in tea to match the rest of her outfit. She's quite excited about it as she has been wanting to have a lace dress for a long time but "her damn children have taken so long to get married!"
Coordinator - check
I got to meet with Alfred, Amy and Jojit of The 3rd Party and have pretty much decided to get them as our day coordinators. I just need to advise Jo so I can sign the contract and give them the dp.
It's too bad that they are not able to take a half-coordination contract any more (they're really busy with the December and January weddings) because I would have gladly hired them to take over the preps. I was glad that they were straight about it though, so I don't hire them for a bigger scope and then get annoyed if they don't get to do the work properly. I like it when people are straight about things.
Church Survey - check
Ka Helen (Jo's mother), mom, Tita Boots (florist), and I got to visit the INC Pandacan locale today. It's really pretty and it was strange taking pictures from the center aisle as I kept getting goosebumps thinking that I would be walking down the very same aisle in Feb. Yiii!
The architecture is very beautiful and the ceiling and chandeliers are a sooo nice to look at. Check out the photos here.
Food
We will most likely have a choice of 2 main courses for the reception, (fish and chicken / beef) as the parents say that the oldies would most likely prefer fish. We'll indicate the choices in the reception / Rsvp card, and then most likely color-code the placecards so the waiters know who gets what.
I think I'll leave the food tasting to the 2 mothers, so they can have bonding time na rin.
MUA Ring-a-roses
I had a sudden attack of ficklemindedness (again!) and decided to book Alex of Propaganda for my hair and makeup. My reasons are (1) he's the only person I trust to cut my hair and I feel he knows how to work with it's broominess and he can cut my hair with the wedding hairstyle in mind, (2) we chat during my haircuts, he knows me and I am comfortable with him knowing I don't want to look like a poofed up girly girl.
He is more expensive, but right now I don't care na...I just want to be more relaxed during the wedding day. I know he has a wedding to do in the afternoon but will
Flowers
Have started discussions with Tita Boots. I couldn't describe what I wanted with my bouquet so said "stylized". The MOH and BMs will have bouquets, the FGs will have flower rings and little flower hair ornaments, the Female Sponsors will have fans with flowers, and the men will have boutonnieres. Flowers will be mostly roses, with maybe some pears, apples or grapes for the decor. Eeeh. I really don't know anything about flowers at all. Must discuss with Tita Boots further.
Groomsman, Coinbearer, and Flower Girls
Jo finally completed his list of groomsmen. Parang ang dami no? Actually he's only got 2.
I just found out that we need a coinbearer, but that's resolved because I got the son of my cousin.
Oh, and the flower girl count has increased....I've now got 4 instead of 1...haay, I am really not fond of kids at all, pero must accede to family requests. It's really not a big deal I guess, I will just stay as far away from them as possible...or have a couple shots of scotch during the reception
Side Kwento about Motha-of-the-Bride
I was almost in tears halfway through today as my mom and I had totally different ideas about how things should be. We kept arguing (in a pasimple manner as there were people around).
I actually woke Joel up with a call to SF and begged him to allow me to hire a coordinator to handle the rest of the work. I think Joey was hesitant because of the added expense but when I started bawling on the phone he said yes agad (aha! the power of tears!!!!). I calmed down after a couple smokes though, and now that I am thinking about it...I am sure mom just wants to make sure everything is as perfect as could be...so how can I stay upset?
She is really matiyaga naman talaga. And I know she wants to help and be involved. And she has been a really big help and a support system for me, especially as I am preparing without Jo physically around to do the legwork. Kahit na she is makulit I really love my mom.
