Today. 3 missed calls on my mobile phone.

I answer the 4th call.

Mai: Hello.

Contractor: Hey! What's up? Are you at a meeting?

Mai: Nope. I'm on leave actually.

Contractor: You? On leave??? Why?

Mai: I'm getting married on Saturday.

Contractor: Aha! So that's why. So anyway, S______ is expanding by half a floor so we need to make a couple rough plans so we can estimate. We've got to rush this a bit as they need to move in by June 1st. Are you up for a meeting tomorrow at 4pm?

Mai: Ok, here are the plans. Here's what you need to file....Certificate of Noncoverage....blah blah blah...PEZA Building Permits....blah blah....All-Risk Insurance....blah blah....finalise drawings blah....blah...ok?

Engineer: Ok got that.

Mai: Oh, and I'll be out of the office for a week or so, so if anything crops up you can coordinate with A___ or M___ ok? I've briefed them and they can relay urgent items to me.

Engineer: Ok. Why will you be away???

Mai: Getting married on the 19th.

Engineer: You! Heheh. Talaga??? So, imbitado ba ako? (jokingly)

Mai: Yeah, you're the groom.

Mai: Please forward drawings and finishes to A____ because I will be on leave from the 14th to the 25th.

Supplier: You? On leave? You're never on leave.

Mai: Yeah. But I'm getting married kasi.

Supplier: Aba, may tinatagong buhay ka pala.

Mai: Ungas
