Coping and Moping

The recent cold has been quite a shock to my system and I was none to pleased to have a broken home furnace during the freezing week. I know it is "only" 2 degrees Celsius and that it is much colder in NY and other parts but hey, I've got the blood of an Indio and need my time adjusting. Scarves help though, and so do gloves. A lot.

I've actually been hanging around an architectural office recently doing this and that and I am actually getting around to understanding the English system I was ranting earlier about. It's not too hard I guess, just a whole new list of things I need to familiarize myself with. I go in some days a week, stay a few hours, read a few books, etc etc.

But now that I am at an office most of the day I start to see the difficulty of doing chores and cooking when you have a job. It just seems like there isn't enough time for anything. I've cut back a bit on my cooking adventures, and now cook dishes enough for 2 or 3 meals and pop them in the freezer.

I'm also missing Manila - my family, my pets, my office (kingdom), and the food. I get to talk to my family but still miss them a lot. And I want to pet my cats and dogs too, and check on things at work.

I had originally thought that I wouldn't be able to go back home because the money was needed for mom's treatment but the beloved husband told me he would get my ticket. So by Feb 4 I will be in Countryside eating my inihaw na baboy with garlic rice. Yum!
