Wedding Cake Redux

I've got a meeting with Alex Franco set for Monday 30 August 2004. I'm pretty excited to meet with him and see photos of his cakes.

I've probably downloaded hundreds of cake photos from the net and this did nothing but confuse me. I've decided to cut down to 3 designs, with maybe 2 as backup.

No 1

Isn't this beautiful? I'm pretty sure the cake part can be done in buttercream but what about the leaves and stuff? candy? painted leaves?

No 2

This is what Joel likes, but I think he'll agree that No 1 is better. Plus I think those are lily-of-the-valley-that-cost-an-arm-and-a-leg protruding from the cake. And I'm not sure if the cake will look as nice with buttercream icing.

No 3

Another beautiful cake. Erika said this can be done using candy wire, but I'm not sure if this is available locally. This cake is sort of Moulin Rouge. I actually prefer this to No 2 but thought I'd let Jo have some say in the decision.
