The week before and after the wedding went in a blur and I can't believe I am back in the office today with a site meeting already done and quite a pile of paperwork to go through.

Joel left for SF today, and the next time we see each other will be when I move there for good (ack! NSO and US Embassy please be cooperative!).

First, allow me to do my Oscars / Famas spiel.
Thank you Laine, Abie, Pia, Pazette, Tintin, Tin, Maiji, Star, Kitts, Nice, Jillsabs, Leslie, Nyree, Rose, Grace, Dang, and everybody for your good wishes and prayers. Thank you Pebz and Mike for the beautiful flowers, they greeted us when we got back to the room from the reception and I was so hungry I almost ate them. Thank you Tin and Laine for the text greetings :D Thank you thank you :D :D Mwah mwah mwah. With my limited internet access I was really chuffed to see the notes from you when I would log on :D

Would you believe that after both obsessing on details and panicking because of my procrastination....I didn't really notice anything during the wedding and the reception??? So strange. It was all a cheery haze.

I really didn't care about anything other than that Joel and I were married. Yahooey :D

Snippets of conversation during the morning of the wedding.

Amy (coordinator): Umm, Mia. Where is the mannequin for the gown?
Mia: Eh? Oo nga no. It isn't here. Fuck it.

Mom: Oy Mia. Wheres the breakfast food you bought?
Mia: Eh? Nasaan na nga ba? Nawala? Fuck it.

Alex (MUA): Mia I dont think you should wear the false eyelashes that cost you 1500 bucks which Ninang Tita bought in a panic yesterday.
Mia: Ay, di na ba? Fuck it.

Ling: Nang (what my sisters call me). You havent finished the writeups about the sponsors! Kulang pa ng dalawa.
Mia: Argh. Give me a pen and a cigarette.
Pilar (photographer): A cigarette? Cool! Sit by the window for a few photos ok?

I wasn't able to book a trial MU session with Alex because of our conflicting schedules, but we spent a couple minutes before the MU proper trying to conceptualize how I would look.

Alex: Hmmm....I know you want something a bit different so I was thinking of giving you some soft curls. Retro look medjo, to fit your gown.
Mia: Retro? My gown is retro???
Alex: Angelic look tayo.
Mia: Ummm, mas bagay yata sungay, heh heh.
Alex: No, really. Lets do the soft curls, I'll do dramatic eyes, pale lips. So ano? You like?
Mia: I trust you Alex, just dont make me look sweet.

I was really pleased when he was done. I love Alex.

I originally hired Pilar Tuason for a 2-photographer package, and Mimi Abesamis for a 1-photographer backup package. Pilar took 1 more photographer and Mimi took Karl, her partner. Grabe I felt like Britney Spears! Walked out of the room in my jologs tshirt and jogging pants and Boom! 5 cameras and 3 videocams in my face! Had to run back to the room to wear my robe-disguise.

Now I've got about 4,000 photos to sift though. Very narcissistic. Pilar was excellent. I love her shots. Mimi and Karl were great too. They are going to go a looong way.

Pilar is using a photo of mine for her leaflet, and she gave me a be-yoo-ti-ful fine art sepia print of the shot :)

And when I saw Joel for the first time that day....sheee I actually got so kilig :)

And that feeling has been around ever since :)
