Dress Rehearsal

We had our first fitting today at Tita Mila's place

Ling (BM), Pia (MOH), and Erika (BM)
sans the shrugs and petticoats

Erika, Pia, and Ling (with half of her soon to be shrug)

Front view of my dress
- they need to cut the neckline lower and the straps narrower

Rear view - wtf do I do about my tattoo???

Some side kwentos:

The cloth used for my sisters' and Erik's dresses was originally supposed to be for me. I was supposed to wear a pink gown! Can you imagine??? It's a really beautiful soft silk chiffon fabric and it looks lovely on them.

I had once considered wearing mom's wedding dress but she's a bit shorter than me and it seemed like the restoration / cleaning / etc. would be more of a hassle than getting a new gown.
Being the lazy person I am, I opted for the easy way out.

My mom had an electric pleated skirt for her wedding as well. So I think she is pleased that we have something in common with our wedding dresses.

Tita Mila is making me a dressing-up outfit as a present. I saw the cloth and it is really pretty. This will be my first pretty piece of sleepwear as my usual attire is either (1) a pair of pajamas, or more commonly (2) a ratty shirt and a pair of my grandfather's puruntong madras shorts

The cutter snickered when I took off my shirt to try on the dress...."Ay kelangan mo pala talaga ng padded bra!!!" "Don't worry Mai, we'll get you some silicon bra stuffers...." Ehhhh

Have decided to get a corset as everyone was commenting about my horrible posture.

They had left the top uncut as Tita Mila wanted to cut the neckline and armholes while I was wearing the dress. This was supposed to be done to hide my tattoo (it's as big as my foot and I've got a pretty large foot heeeh). But the dress just looked Blah with the neckline and back so high. So I have decided to cut both lower.

I now have to figure out a way to cover my tattoo. I know that theres a makeup brand called Cinema Secrets that is supposedly so pigmented it can be used to cover tattoos, so I'll check that out. Any other suggestions?

I know this is really quite cheesy...but when I wore the dress and looked in the mirror...ahhh I got KILIG!!!

You have to understand, I really don't wear skirts or dresses...and have never really had a dress that I really really liked...

I felt like a bride!!!

I now have justification for getting a pricey photographer. I don't think I will ever get to wear anything like this again, so the photos should be really good.

Supposed to send photos to Jo, but am thinking twice about it.
