What Price Beauty?
The last time my Erika and I went for a haircut I was alarmed to see that prices were to be raised the next day. Haircuts (including washing / blow-drying) were going up to PHP 1000 from PHP 700! Alex didn't charge me for my haircut because he said all he did was even it a bit so it would grow out better. Good thing I'm growing my hair so no gastos on that until Feb.
Bridal makeup costs were also increased :(
Old Prices
Bride Only = 12k
Bride + 2 = 20k
Trial Makeup = 3.5k
New Prices (!)
Bride Only = 15k
Bride + 2 = 25k
Trial Makeup = 5k
I'm a sucker for expensive cosmetics and love my stylist but the prices are just too too high. Good thing mom spoke with Patrick R previously and asked for a pencil booking.
On the other hand, there may be some justification for the cost, considering that Alex is always fully booked whenever he's in the salon. Here's a rough computation based on his haircut fees.
Cost of Lost Income
using an average time period of 5 hours
cost of haircut = 1000
2 haircuts per hour = 2 x 1000 = 2000
5 hours out of the salon = 5 x 2000 = 10000
transport costs (2way from Greenbelt to Pen) = 300
total cost of lost income = 10300
It doesn't seem so bad when you look at it that way, but then that doesn't do much for me since I still can't afford it. Patrick is still pretty mahal, but I can at least use the cost differential to pay for my shoes or half the cake. Or use it to spend on my derma visits. There's no point to spending a lot on makeup if my skin sucks.
