Ideas

I'm really conflicted on the bouquet and garter tosses, and the 1st dance.

(1) Bouquet Toss - I don't have much single girlfriends anymore, (a confession - I don't have much friends, period) and I think a bouquet toss with only 3 or 4 ladies waiting to catch won't be too fun. Plus I have this irrational fear of my sister catching the bouquet and my brother catching the garter and that would be just gross :P

(2) Garter Toss - I think this will depend on the state of my thighs hehe. Seriously, I don't like being groped (even legitimately) in front of a crowd.

(3) Dance - Simply put, I can't dance to save my life and Joel can only do the techno stuff.

I would like to pay some sort of tribute to the parents though, and am trying to figure out how.

Something for the Moms - am thinking of giving bouquets to my mom and Joel's mom, either right before the ceremony (after the march), or during the reception.

Something for the Dads - have to think about this. any suggestions?

Something for Grandmother and Grandfather - My grandparents on my dad's side took care of us a lot when we were younger.

Something for Jo - Although it's been said that I am an insensitive bitch, I really do want to do something for my beloved Joeypet on our wedding day.

I'm also beginning to dread the fact that we've got quite a number of kiddies in the entourage.

If you've been reading my blog for quite a time na, I guess you will have noticed na I am not one of those persons who loves kids. I don't mean they should be whipped or anything (although at times when our neighbor's daughter wails for hours nonstop I feel like walking next door to discipline her myself geez), but parent's should realize people aren't as amused with every move their child makes as they are, especially if the kids start to get annoying / pest-like / disruptive. I like well behaved, polite kids - and have seen a lot of nice ones, so it isn't impossible to ask for.

But I digress - I want to keep them busy during the reception, should I do it through (1) alcohol, (2) valium, (3) chloroform (4) other means - like giving them coloring books, or paper dolls, or other items to keep them busy AT THEIR TABLE. Maybe use large paper placemats and give them some crayons, maybe give them lollipops and cookies.....laced with tranquilizers....JUST KIDDING!

Oh, I am chock-a-block with ideas now ha. Here's another: I am thinking of making some goody bags to give guests after the church ceremony so they have something to nibble on before lunch starts. This is a sneaky way to feed the guests without paying the extra corkage for bringing in snacks. Nothing major, maybe just some cookies and bottled water, and nuts. Will probably distribute right outside the Church. Of course those that go straight to the reception won't get any of these...but I'll let their tummies growl a bit since they didn't bother to go to the wedding hahahah! >: D
